Bishops and district superintendents are responsible for ensuring that the church responds to allegations of misconduct by ministerial leaders, attending to both procedural justice and pastoral concern. There are many aspects to this full account of justice-making, requiring the involvement of different persons in distinct roles throughout a process of disclosure and healing.
A trained Response Team is a group of persons with expertise in specific areas of trauma ready to be deployed at the bishop’s command to facilitate the process of healing mandated by the Discipline.
